The Mankato MoonDogs' Ferrell comes through in the clutch, upends the Duluth Huskies, 5-3

Cody Ferrell brought home the winning run to give the Mankato MoonDogs (38-15) the lead in the ninth inning, as the Mankato MoonDogs hung on to beat the Duluth Huskies (31-22) 5-3 on Sunday.

Audie Afenir singled to start the ninth. He then went from first to third on a double by Trever Allen. Finally, Ferrell came to the plate with the score tied at three, and hit a sacrifice fly, bringing home Afenir.

Craig Massoni racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Mankato MoonDogs. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

The Duluth Huskies had no answer for Matt Marsh, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Duluth Huskies managed just one hit off of Marsh, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his three innings of work.

Nate Carter (3-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
