Justin Parr brought home the winning run to give the Rochester Honkers (22-29) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Rochester Honkers hung on to beat the St. Cloud Rox (17-34) 4-3 on Friday.
Brandon Defazio singled to start the seventh. He then went from second to third on a groundout by Reid Roper. Finally, Parr came to the plate with the Rochester Honkers trailing by one, and singled, plating Defazio and Justin Protacio.The Rochester Honkers held off the St. Cloud Rox, as the St. Cloud Rox were unable to overcome a two-run eighth inning deficit.
The St. Cloud Rox scored one run in the ninth on an RBI double by Andy Henkemeyer. Despite their efforts, the St. Cloud Rox couldn't finish the comeback.
Ben Lahn was hot from the plate for the Rochester Honkers. Lahn went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second and seventh innings and homered in the eighth inning.
Matt Kent got the win, running his season record to 3-4. He allowed three runs over nine innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered 12 hits.
Will Flor (2-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
