The Duluth Huskies top the Mankato MoonDogs behind Wass' 5 hits, 13-5

A magnificent effort by Wade Wass spurred the Duluth Huskies (31-20) to a 13-5 win over the Mankato MoonDogs (36-15) on Friday at Wade Stadium.

Wass racked up seven RBIs on five hits for the Duluth Huskies. He doubled in the third inning and homered in the first and fifth innings.

Five runs in the first three innings helped the Duluth Huskies blow out the Mankato MoonDogs. A three-run home run by Wass during the first inning fueled the Duluth Huskies' offense early.

The Duluth Huskies relied on Dylan Thomas to eat up innings en route to the win. Thomas allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out five over 6 2/3 innings of work.

David Andriese racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Mankato MoonDogs. He tripled in the eighth inning.

Mike Avila (0-1) took the loss for the Mankato MoonDogs. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked none and struck out one.

The Duluth Huskies easily handled the Mankato MoonDogs pitching as six hitters combined for 19 hits, 10 RBIs and nine runs scored.
