Michael Suchy went 3-3 at the plate as the Willmar Stingers (29-21) took home a 5-1 victory over the Alexandria Beetles (21-29) at Bill Taunton Stadium on Thursday.
He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.Scott Lieser struck out eight, paving the way for a the Willmar Stingers win. Lieser allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings.
Steve Weber was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
