The Wisconsin Woodchucks (29-19) beat the Madison Mallards (25-23) 2-0 in five innings on Wednesday at Athletic Park behind Nate Irving, who went 1-1.
He singled in the fifth inning.The Wisconsin Woodchucks' Adam Kramer kept the Madison Mallards off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up two.
Despite the loss, the Madison Mallards' Kurt Giller dominated the Wisconsin Woodchucks' batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.
Giller was charged with his first loss of the year.
