Novak leads the Duluth Huskies to 2-1 victory thanks to 6 strikeouts

Joey Novak hopes every outing could go as well as Friday, as Novak pitched seven shutout innings to carry the Duluth Huskies (20-16) to a 2-1 victory over the Rochester Honkers at Wade Stadium.

The Duluth Huskies held off the Rochester Honkers (16-21), as the Rochester Honkers were unable to overcome a two-run sixth inning deficit.

The Rochester Honkers scored one run in the eighth on a groundout by Mike Lukkason. Unfortunately, the Rochester Honkers weren't able to take the lead back.

Connor Joe was solid at the plate for the Duluth Huskies. Joe went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the second and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Matt Kent (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
