An outstanding effort by Brooks Orton carried the Green Bay Bullfrogs (23-13) to a 10-2 win over the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (16-19) on Thursday at Witter Field.
Orton blasted two home runs for the Green Bay Bullfrogs. Orton went 5-6 in the game with two RBIs and four runs scored. Orton homered in the sixth and eighth innings.
Seven runs in the first three innings helped the Green Bay Bullfrogs blow out the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. An RBI single by Clayton Eslick, an RBI single by Ransom LaLonde, an RBI single by Chris Hoo, and an RBI single by Alex Abrams in the first inning and a double by Orton, a single by Billy Moon, a double by Justin Seager, and a double by Seager during the second inning fueled the Green Bay Bullfrogs' offense early.
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters couldn't get anything going as long as Bradley Wallace was on the mound. The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters managed just two hits off of the the Green Bay Bullfrogs' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out six during his five innings of work.
Brandon Hohl was hot from the plate for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. Hohl went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.
Bo Henning was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
