The Alexandria Beetles top the Willmar Stingers behind Moore's 2 hits, 8-7

Ben Moore clubbed two home runs to carry the Alexandria Beetles (13-22) to an 8-7 win over the Willmar Stingers (20-15) at Knute Nelson Memorial Park.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to six lead changes in the game.

The Alexandria Beetles would not relinquish the lead as the Willmar Stingers were unable to weather a two-run sixth inning deficit.

The Willmar Stingers scored one run in the eighth on an error. Still, the Willmar Stingers couldn't draw even.

The Willmar Stingers had no answer for Mitchell Babb, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Willmar Stingers managed just one hit off of Babb, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one during his three innings of work.

Brian Kaye couldn't get it done on the bump for the Willmar Stingers, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

Moore, Matt Lowenstein and Ryan Padilla helped lead the Alexandria Beetles. They combined for seven hits and seven RBIs.
