Both the Willmar Stingers (19-13) and the Alexandria Beetles (11-21) put runners aboard on Sunday, but it was the Willmar Stingers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-4 win at Bill Taunton Stadium.

The Willmar Stingers held off the Alexandria Beetles, as the Alexandria Beetles were unable to overcome a three-run eighth inning deficit.

The Alexandria Beetles scored one run in the ninth on an RBI single by Jimmy Pickens. Despite their efforts, the Alexandria Beetles couldn't get over the hump.

Zach Benson racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Willmar Stingers. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.

Jerad McCrummen improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Willmar Stingers. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered eight hits.

Steve Weber (1-3) took the loss for the Alexandria Beetles. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
