Sunday was a great day for Kenny Roberts, as he hit two home runs to carry the Willmar Stingers (21-15) to a 6-5 victory over the Mankato MoonDogs (29-7) at Franklin Rogers Park.
Roberts racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Willmar Stingers. He homered in the first and third innings.
The Willmar Stingers staved off the Mankato MoonDogs as the Mankato MoonDogs were unable to match the Willmar Stingers down the stretch.
The Mankato MoonDogs scored on an error in the fifth inning, a two-run double by Trever Allen in the sixth inning, and a two-run double by Chase Fowler in the ninth inning. Unfortunately, the Mankato MoonDogs weren't able to take the lead back.
Richie Navari improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Willmar Stingers. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out one, walked six and surrendered four hits.
Adam Mott (3-1) took the loss for the Mankato MoonDogs. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out four.
