A single, plating Derek Fisher gave the Madison Mallards (11-15) the lead in the seventh inning, and the Madison Mallards hung on to beat the Eau Claire Express (8-17) 3-2 on Sunday.

The Madison Mallards held off the Eau Claire Express, as the Eau Claire Express were unable to overcome a two-run eighth inning deficit.

The Eau Claire Express scored one run in the ninth on an RBI double by Josh Scheffert. Despite their efforts, the Eau Claire Express couldn't finish the comeback.

Tyler Marincov was hot from the plate for the Madison Mallards. Marincov went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Matt LaMothe kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the Eau Claire Express batters. LaMothe allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk over seven innings.

Andrew Hedrick couldn't get it done on the mound for the Eau Claire Express, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
