Offenses dominate as the Alexandria Beetles outscore the St. Cloud Rox 12-11

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Sunday as the Alexandria Beetles (9-16) outscored the St. Cloud Rox (5-18) 12-11.

The two teams combined for 25 hits in the game.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with six lead changes.

The Alexandria Beetles pulled out the win thanks to a strong fifth inning. An error scored Robert Case and gave the Alexandria Beetles the lead for good.

The Alexandria Beetles held off the St. Cloud Rox, as the St. Cloud Rox were unable to overcome a six-run seventh inning deficit.

The St. Cloud Rox scored five runs in the ninth on a double by Chris Paul, an RBI home run by Erik Kozel, a groundout by Nick Rau, and a two-run single by Mark Rhine. Unfortunately, the St. Cloud Rox weren't able to take the lead back.

Shawn Riesgraf got his first win for the Alexandria Beetles despite allowing six runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered nine hits.

Andy Urban ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked eight and struck out none.

The Alexandria Beetles were sparked by Dylan Raper and Ben Moore, who teamed up for six hits and eight RBIs.
