Great game from the Madison Mallards' Trevino not enough in 15-14 loss to the Battle Creek Bombers

The Madison Mallards (9-11) failed to take advantage of Jose Trevino's effort at the plate on Friday, losing 15-14 to the Battle Creek Bombers (9-11) at Warner Park.

Trevino blasted two home runs for the Madison Mallards. Trevino went 3-4 in the game with five RBIs and four runs scored. Trevino homered in the sixth and ninth innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 29 total runs and 26 hits during the game. There were 10 pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

The Battle Creek Bombers would not relinquish the lead as the Madison Mallards were unable to weather a 10-run sixth inning deficit.

The Madison Mallards scored on a two-run home run by Trevino in the sixth inning, a three-run home run by Tyler Marincov and a wild pitch in the seventh inning, and a three-run home run by Trevino in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the Madison Mallards couldn't get over the hump.

Colin Willis racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Battle Creek Bombers. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Kenton San Miguel improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Battle Creek Bombers. San Miguel struck out two, walked one and gave up no hits.

Kyle Barbeck couldn't get it done on the hill for the Madison Mallards, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked none and struck out none.

The Battle Creek Bombers pounded the Madison Mallards pitching, as six hitters combined for 11 hits, 12 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
