The Madison Mallards (9-11) were unable to fight back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Battle Creek Bombers (9-11), and the Madison Mallards lost 6-4 to the Battle Creek Bombers after falling behind by three runs in the fourth inning.

The Madison Mallards scored on an RBI single by Tom Verdi in the fourth inning and in the eighth inning. Despite their efforts, the Madison Mallards couldn't finish the comeback.

Chris McCoy racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Battle Creek Bombers. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fourth inning.

The Madison Mallards had no answer for Alex Tukey, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Tukey held the Madison Mallards hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two.

Verdi racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Madison Mallards.

Caleb Vincent improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Battle Creek Bombers. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

Trevor Foss was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked none and struck out 10.
