The Alexandria Beetles (4-9) shut the door early on the Mankato MoonDogs (10-4), capturing a 10-2 victory on Tuesday at Franklin Rogers Park.

With six runs in the first three innings, the Alexandria Beetles left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run double by Ben Moore, an RBI double by Jimmy Pickens, and a groundout by Josh Carpenter during the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Tanner Vavra and a solo home run by Johnny Tolson in the second inning fueled the Alexandria Beetles' offense early.

Vavra racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Alexandria Beetles.

Andrew Busby put together a nice outing. Busby held the Mankato MoonDogs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Michael Reed got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered four hits.

Ty Taylor was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out four.
