The Saskatchewan (3-1) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Manitoba (1-3), recording a 12-4 victory on Friday at Midget Municipal Stadium.

Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the Saskatchewan to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Brandon Beaudin-Herney, an error, and an error in the first inning and an RBI single by Aaron Barrett, a triple by Brayden Resch, and an RBI triple by Resch during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Saskatchewan.

Resch reached base three times. He scored three runs and had one RBI.

Takoda Taylor improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Saskatchewan. He allowed two runs over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered four hits.

Nelson Quark (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked two and struck out none.
