Thursday was a great day for Delwyn Young, as he hit two home runs to carry the Camden Riversharks (46-49) to a 4-3 victory over the Somerset Patriots (46-51) at TD Bank Ballpark.
The Camden Riversharks held off the Somerset Patriots, as the Somerset Patriots were unable to overcome a three-run third inning deficit.
The Somerset Patriots scored on a sacrifice fly by Corey Smith in the third inning, a fielder's choice in the seventh inning, and a solo home run by Smith in the eighth inning. Still, the Somerset Patriots couldn't catch the Camden Riversharks.
Keith Weiser kept contact to a minimum, striking out six the Somerset Patriots batters. Weiser allowed one earned run on four hits and four walks over six innings.
Sean Green was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
The Camden Riversharks were sparked by Eduardo Perez and Young, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.
