A great effort by Jack Vander Linden carried the Alaska Goldpanners (4-1) to a 7-0 win over the Everett (2-3) on Friday at Growden Memorial Park.

Vander Linden held the Everett scoreless for eight innings. Vander Linden allowed three hits, two walks and struck out seven.

The Alaska Goldpanners' bats came to life in the second inning. The Alaska Goldpanners' bats caught fire leading to five runs.

Paul Politi had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Kevin Sheets was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked none and struck out three.

Kevin Casey, Chad Carroll and Politi helped lead the Alaska Goldpanners. They combined for seven hits and three RBIs.
