Kevin Casey had two extra base hits, helping the Alaska Goldpanners (18-18) to a 4-1 victory over the Chugiak Chinooks (14-22) on Saturday at Loretta French Field.
He tripled in the sixth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.The Chugiak Chinooks couldn't get anything going so long as Garrett Wilson was on the hill. Wilson held the Chugiak Chinooks hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
Mike Jeffreys ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
