The Alaska Goldpanners (14-17) jumped out to an early lead on the Peninsula Oilers (18-15) and captured a 15-3 victory on Monday at Growden Memorial Park.

With nine runs in the first three innings, the Alaska Goldpanners left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A solo home run by Paul Politi, a solo home run by Matt Nadolski, a two-run single by Blake Miller, and an RBI triple by Kevin Casey during the second inning helped the Alaska Goldpanners put some runs on the board early.

Politi blasted two home runs for the Alaska Goldpanners. Politi went 2-5 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Politi homered in the seventh innings.

Jack Vander Linden's nine strikeouts helped the Alaska Goldpanners to the victory. Vander Linden allowed two earned runs, five hits and two walks over 6 2/3 innings.

Alex Staehely racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Peninsula Oilers. He homered in the eighth inning.

J.D. Salles (3-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out five.
