The Anchorage Bucs top the Chugiak Chinooks behind Rust's 2 hits, 13-2

Tanner Rust clubbed two home runs to carry the Anchorage Bucs (14-15) to a 13-2 win over the Chugiak Chinooks (12-16) at Mulcahy Field.

Rust racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Anchorage Bucs. He homered in the fourth and seventh innings.

The Anchorage Bucs ran up the score, scoring runs at will until the final out. The Anchorage Bucs scored four runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. The Anchorage Bucs scored five runs in the sixth on a two-run home run by Danny Susdorf, a solo home run by Collin Ferguson, a solo home run by Ryan Leonards, and a two-run home run by Leonards.

Steven Karkenny was the lone bright spot for the Chugiak Chinooks in the loss.

Karkenny was solid at the plate for the Chugiak Chinooks. Karkenny went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the fourth, seventh, and ninth innings.

The Anchorage Bucs couldn't get anything going as long as Karkenny was on the mound. The Anchorage Bucs managed just one hit off of Karkenny, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his one inning of work.

Tyler Wright kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the Chugiak Chinooks batters. Wright allowed one earned run, three hits and three walks over six innings.

Kelby Deerman was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked three and struck out two.
