The Anchorage Bucs defeat the Anchorage Glacier Pilots after late game single, 5-4

The Anchorage Bucs (11-11) took the last of seven lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the Anchorage Glacier Pilots (12-8), securing a 5-4 victory on Monday at Mulcahy Field.

Chase Compton put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Anchorage Bucs. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth inning.

The Anchorage Glacier Pilots couldn't get anything going so long as Jeff Grijalva was on the hill. The Anchorage Glacier Pilots managed just one hit off of the the Anchorage Bucs' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his three innings of work.

Kevin Swick racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.

Christian Belleque (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed five runs.

The Anchorage Bucs were sparked by Ryan Leonards and Compton, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
