The Matsu Miners (4-10) and the Chugiak Chinooks (7-5) traded the lead four times on Friday, but the Matsu Miners ended up on top with a 5-3 win in seven innings over the Chugiak Chinooks.
The Matsu Miners took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. Scored Bill Cullen and gave the Matsu Miners the lead for good.
PJ Torres racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Matsu Miners. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fourth inning.
Ross Mitchell recorded his second win of the year for the Matsu Miners. He allowed three runs over six innings. Mitchell struck out four, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Ryan Sullivan (1-1) took the loss for the Chugiak Chinooks. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
