Nate Ring brought home the go-ahead run to give the Peninsula Oilers (8-4) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Peninsula Oilers hung on to beat the Anchorage Bucs (4-4) 5-0 on Wednesday.
With the game scoreless in the sixth inning Ring came to the plate and homered.The Anchorage Bucs couldn't get anything going as long as Michael Coates was on the mound. Coates held the Anchorage Bucs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Jordan Mills recorded his second win of the year for the Peninsula Oilers. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered seven hits.
Mike Theodore (0-1) took the loss for the Anchorage Bucs. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out 10, and allowed one run.
