Kyle Freeland kept the Chugiak Chinooks (7-4) off the board during his 5 2/3 innings of work and the Anchorage Glacier Pilots (5-4) beat the Chugiak Chinooks, 6-1.

Freeland struck out six and allowed three walks and five hits.

Nick Backlund paced the Anchorage Glacier Pilots at the plate. Backlund went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Kristopher Kwak reached base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the seventh inning.

Matt Marsh was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out nine, and allowed five runs.
