The Atwater Aviators (16-10) jumped out to an early lead on the Merced Vols and captured an 11-2 victory on Sunday at Fireman's Memorial Ballpark.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Atwater Aviators to put the game away early.

A sacrifice fly by Evan Heptig and an RBI single by Kevin Grove in the first inning and , an RBI double by Beau Bozett, an RBI single by Gordon Madej, a single by Madej, and an error during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Atwater Aviators.

Madej racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Atwater Aviators.

The Merced Vols couldn't get anything going as long as Matt Burrows was on the mound. Burrows gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Carlos DeReal couldn't get it done on the bump for the Merced Vols, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in five innings, walked three and struck out one.
