The Atwater Aviators (18-13) and the Merced Vols volleyed the lead four times on Thursday, but the Atwater Aviators came out on top for a 4-2 win on Thursday at Merced College.

The Atwater Aviators took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. Scored Jake Morton and gave the Atwater Aviators the lead for good.

It was a good day at the plate for the Atwater Aviators' Morton. Morton went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, sixth, and eighth innings.

The Atwater Aviators relied on Suetake Koki to eat up innings en route to the win. Koki pitched nine innings and allowed two earned runs, six hits and two walks while striking out seven.

McDowell racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Merced Vols. He homered in the first inning.

Nelson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just nine innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
