An exceptional effort by Eric Jackson carried the Atwater Aviators (31-17) to a 14-0 win over the Salinas Tomahawks (3-35) on Friday at Fireman's Memorial Ballpark.
The Atwater Aviators' Jackson kept the Salinas Tomahawks off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on five hits while ringing up seven.
Twelve runs in the opening three innings allowed the Atwater Aviators to easily put away the Salinas Tomahawks. A sacrifice fly by Rick Brebner and a groundout by Garrett Boothe during the first inning and , an RBI single by Gordon Madej, an RBI single by Brebner, an RBI single by Boothe, and a two-run single by Jake Morton in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Atwater Aviators.
Beau Bozett got on base five times in the game for the Atwater Aviators. He scored three runs and had one RBI.
Oscar Carlstedt couldn't get it done on the mound for the Salinas Tomahawks, taking a loss. He allowed 14 runs in eight innings, walked three and struck out seven.
