The Sacramento Scorch (9-20) built an early lead against the Salinas Tomahawks (0-33), scoring three runs in the first inning, en route to a 3-1 win on Saturday at Sierra College.

The Sacramento Scorch held off the Salinas Tomahawks, as the Salinas Tomahawks were unable to overcome a three-run first inning deficit.

The Salinas Tomahawks scored one run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Mike Croft. Despite their efforts, the Salinas Tomahawks couldn't get over the hump.

Jesse Garcia racked up six strikeouts in the the Sacramento Scorch win. Garcia allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks over six innings.

Josh McCaffery (0-8) took the loss for the Salinas Tomahawks. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
