The Alameda Merchants (21-17) trailed by four in the sixth, but the Alameda Merchants recovered thanks to a key triple in the eighth inning from Chaz Meadows to pull out a 6-4 win over the East Bay Seals at Laney College on Saturday.
With the score tied at four in the eighth inning, Meadows came to the plate and tripled, scoring Anthony Lazalde.
Meadows did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Alameda Merchants, reaching base four times. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He singled in the seventh innings and tripled in the eighth innings.
Alex Jack put together a nice outing. The East Bay Seals managed just one hit off of Jack, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.
Valentine racked up two RBIs on two hits for the East Bay Seals. He singled in the first and third innings.
Alcantar was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
