A walk-off single from Jimmy Jack brought home the winning run for the Sacramento Scorch (6-13) in a 7-6 victory over the California Glory at Sierra Junior College on Wednesday.
Jack racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Sacramento Scorch. He doubled in the eighth inning and singled in the ninth inning.
Scott Templeton got on base four times in the game for the Sacramento Scorch. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first and eighth innings.
The California Glory (17-10) had no answer for Chris Daniels, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Daniels gave up just two hits, allowed two earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his seven innings of work.
Despite the loss, the California Glory's Josh Schuller dominated the Sacramento Scorch's batters, giving up three runs and striking out 10.
Jesse Garcia got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed four runs over two innings. Garcia struck out none, walked none and gave up six hits.
Cass Ingvardsen was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
