The Newark Bears cough up lead, the Worcester Tornadoes win 10-8

Down three runs in the seventh, the Worcester Tornadoes (26-62) recovered thanks to Cam Kneeland's single in the eighth, and pulled out a 10-8 win over the Newark Bears (30-59) on Monday at Bears_Eagles Riverfront Stadium.

With the Worcester Tornadoes trailing by two, Kneeland came to the plate and singled, bringing home Chris Torres and Alex Nunez.

Kneeland racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Worcester Tornadoes. He singled in the eighth inning.

The two teams combined for 18 runs and 25 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were seven pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

Torres did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Worcester Tornadoes, reaching base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth and ninth innings.

Matt McDonald got the win, running his season record to 2-4. He allowed one run over one inning. McDonald struck out one, walked none and gave up two hits.

Anthony Pluta (3-5) took the loss for the Newark Bears. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked four and struck out one.
