The Rockland Boulders (43-38) failed to take advantage of Ryan Scoma's effort at the plate on Sunday, losing 6-5 to the New Jersey Jackals (48-33) at Yogi Berra Stadium.
Scoma hit two home runs for the Rockland Boulders. Scoma went 3-4 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Scoma homered in the fourth and eighth innings.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with eight lead changes.
Bryan Sabatella racked up three RBIs on two hits for the New Jersey Jackals. He singled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Even though Isaac Pavlik allowed five runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his tenth of the season. He struck out seven, walked one and surrendered 11 hits.
MacKenzie King (3-2) took the loss for the Rockland Boulders. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
