The Gary SouthShore RailCats beat the New Jersey Jackals (34-26) 3-0 in seven innings on Saturday at Yogi Berra Stadium behind Mike Massaro, who went 2-3.
He singled in the first and fourth innings.Jon Gulbransen looked sharp on the mound. The New Jersey Jackals managed just two hits off of Gulbransen, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his five innings of work.
Despite the loss, the New Jersey Jackals' Dustin Birosak dominated the Gary SouthShore RailCats' batters, giving up three runs and striking out five.
Birosak (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher.
