The New Jersey Jackals cruise past the Worcester Tornadoes, 10-4

The Worcester Tornadoes (17-38) didn't stand a chance on Monday, as the New Jersey Jackals (31-24) captured a blowout 10-4 win at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto.

The New Jersey Jackals scored three runs in the sixth on a two-run double by Jeff Lanning and a sacrifice fly by Angel Berroa.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the sixth, with seven lead changes.

Lanning put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the New Jersey Jackals.

The Worcester Tornadoes had no answer for Zach Woods, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Woods held the Worcester Tornadoes hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.

Dustin Birosak got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out none, walked three and surrendered eight hits.

Dan Sausville (3-7) took the loss for the Worcester Tornadoes. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked one and struck out two.

The New Jersey Jackals' Bryan Sabatella, Berroa and Lanning combined for eight hits and seven RBIs.
