The New Jersey Jackals (26-21) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Newark Bears (16-33), and the New Jersey Jackals lost 4-2 to the Newark Bears after falling behind by four runs in the fourth inning.

The New Jersey Jackals scored on a solo home run by Carlos Guzman in the fourth inning and an RBI single by Bryan Sabatella in the seventh inning. Despite their efforts, the New Jersey Jackals couldn't get over the hump.

Burt Reynolds was solid at the plate for the Newark Bears. Reynolds went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the second and ninth innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the New Jersey Jackals' Francisco Caraballo. Caraballo went 2-4. He singled in the first inning.

Brian Parker improved to 1-5 on the year by picking up the win for the Newark Bears. He allowed two runs over 6 2/3 innings. Parker struck out one, walked none and gave up seven hits.

Isaac Pavlik (5-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
