The New Jersey Jackals fend off the Rockland Boulders' late push, hold on 8-6

The Rockland Boulders (19-24) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the New Jersey Jackals (25-19), and the Rockland Boulders lost 8-6 to the New Jersey Jackals after falling behind by four runs in the fifth inning.

The Rockland Boulders scored on a solo home run by Jon Smith in the seventh inning and a two-run home run by Cole Kraft in the ninth inning. Still, the Rockland Boulders couldn't catch the New Jersey Jackals.

Francisco Caraballo racked up five RBIs on three hits for the New Jersey Jackals. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the first and ninth innings.

Smith blasted two home runs for the Rockland Boulders. Smith went 2-5 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Smith homered in the inning.

Julian Sampson shut down the New Jersey Jackals while he was on the mound. The New Jersey Jackals managed just two hits off of Sampson, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out none during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Steve Fox improved to 7-1 on the year by picking up the win for the New Jersey Jackals. He allowed three runs over five innings. Fox struck out four, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Bobby Blevins couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Rockland Boulders, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.
