Saturday was a great day for Alex Trezza, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Worcester Tornadoes (13-22) to a 12-11 victory over the Newark Bears (11-24) at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto in 10 innings.
A walk-off single by Nick Salotti gave the Worcester Tornadoes the win.
Salotti racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Worcester Tornadoes. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh and tenth innings.
The two teams combined for 23 runs and 35 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were 11 pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.
Nick Serino got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He struck out one, walked three and surrendered one hit.
Anthony Pluta (2-2) took the loss for the Newark Bears. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed one run.
The Worcester Tornadoes' Alex Nunez, Salotti, Trezza and Brandon Pinckney combined for 11 hits and eight RBIs.
