Matt Nandin drove in the go-ahead run to give the Rockland (14-16) the lead in the ninth inning, as the Rockland hung on to beat the Grand Prairie 5-4 on Wednesday.
Jon Smith doubled to start the ninth. He then went from second to third on a groundout by Chris Valencia. Finally, Nandin came to the plate with the score tied at four, and singled, scoring Smith.It was a good day at the plate for the Rockland's Keith Brachold. Brachold went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the third innings.
The Grand Prairie's lineup had no answer for Garrett Johnson. The Grand Prairie managed just one hit off of Johnson, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
Adrian Martin recorded his second win of the year for the Rockland. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Ronnie Morales took the loss for the Grand Prairie. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
