The Worcester (8-11) and the Rockland (9-12) passed the lead back and forth four times on Saturday at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto, but in the end the Worcester pulled out a 7-2 win over the Rockland.
Jerod Edmondson racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Worcester. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the third and eighth innings.
The Rockland couldn't get anything going as long as Michael Bourdon was pitching. Bourdon held the Rockland hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.
Kevin Cooper got the win, running his season record to 1-2. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked four and surrendered eight hits.
Jonathan Velasquez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out nine, and allowed five runs.
