The Worcester (7-9) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of an 8-3 ballgame against the Quebec (10-6) on Wednesday at Le Stade Municipal.
The Quebec took the lead in the eighth inning on a two-run single by Rene Leveret.
It was a good day at the plate for the Quebec's Steve Brown. Brown went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.
Karl Gelinas' seven strikeouts helped the Quebec to the victory. Gelinas allowed three earned runs on five hits and no walks over eight innings.
Jerod Edmondson racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Worcester. He homered in the third inning.
Kyle Regnault couldn't get it done on the bump for the Worcester, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
