Chris Valencia brought home the winning run to give the Rockland (10-12) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Rockland hung on to beat the Quebec (14-8) 3-2 on Sunday.
With the score tied at two in the eighth inning, Valencia came to the plate and singled, bringing home Landis Wilson and Matt Nandin.Jonathan Velasquez kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the Quebec batters. Velasquez allowed no earned runs, four hits and three walks over eight innings.
Guillaume Leduc (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
