The Rockland fend off the Worcester 's late push, hold on 6-4

The Worcester (2-5) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the Rockland (4-5), and the Worcester lost 6-4 to the Rockland after falling behind by five runs in the fifth inning.

The Worcester scored on an RBI double by Cameron Monger, a sacrifice fly by Brandon Pinckney, and in the sixth inning and a sacrifice fly by Monger in the seventh inning. Still, the Worcester couldn't draw even.

Cole Kraft racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Rockland . He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second and fourth innings.

Julian Sampson shut down the Worcester while he was on the mound. The Worcester managed just two hits off of Sampson, who allowed no earned runs, walked six and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Monger racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Worcester .

Zach Zuercher ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.

In the top of the first, the Worcester took the early lead as they scored one run on no hits. The Worcester then tacked on more runs when scored on a sacrifice fly by Alex Trezza.

The Rockland never trailed after scoring four runs in the second on two solo blasts and two singles.

The Rockland pushed across one run in both the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, the Rockland scored on an RBI single by Kraft, scoring Qualon Millender.
