Jake Kahaulelio hit two home runs to carry the :Wichita to an 18-5 win over the New Jersey (4-2) at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
Kahaulelio racked up six RBIs on three hits for the :Wichita . He singled in the first inning and homered in the third and sixth innings.
Fourteen runs in the opening three innings allowed the :Wichita to easily put away the New Jersey . An RBI single by Kahaulelio, an RBI double by John Rodriguez, and a two-run double by CJ Ziegler in the first inning and a groundout by Rodriguez during the second inning fueled the :Wichita 's offense early.
Ryan Hinson struck out eight, paving the way for a the :Wichita win. Hinson allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks over six innings.
Steve Caseres racked up three RBIs on two hits for the New Jersey . He singled in the seventh and ninth innings.
Matt Chico (0-2) took the loss for the New Jersey . He allowed 13 runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out two.
The :Wichita added 10 more runs in the bottom of the third. Steve Carrillo homered, scoring Ziegler and David Peralta to start the inning. That was followed up by Kahaulelio's three-run home run, bringing home Salomon Manriguez and Mike Conroy.
