The El Paso Diablos fend off the Wichita Wingnuts' late push, hold on 4-2

The Wichita Wingnuts (59-41) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the El Paso Diablos (47-53) on Wednesday, as the Wichita Wingnuts fell 4-2 at Lawrence Dumont Stadium after falling behind by three runs in the third inning.

The Wichita Wingnuts scored one run in the ninth on an RBI single by Steve Carrillo. Still, the Wichita Wingnuts couldn't draw even.

Mitch Einertson had three extra-base hits for the El Paso Diablos. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the third and fourth innings.

Luis Chirinos picked up the win for the El Paso Diablos. Chirinos pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and three walks while striking out three.

Jake Kahaulelio had a hot bat for the Wichita Wingnuts. Kahaulelio went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.

Derek Blacksher ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
