The St Paul Saints (51-43) jumped out to an early lead on the Gary SouthShore RailCats (46-48) and captured a 13-6 victory on Tuesday at Gary, Ind. (U.S. Steel Yard).

The game was decided quickly as the St Paul Saints exerted their will early with five runs in the first three innings.

An RBI double by Ole Sheldon and a three-run home run by Ronnie Bourquin during the first inning helped the St Paul Saints put some runs on the board early.

Bourquin racked up four RBIs on four hits for the St Paul Saints.

Billy Spottiswood brought the heat against the Gary SouthShore RailCats during his outing. Spottiswood held the Gary SouthShore RailCats hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Trevor Willis led the Gary SouthShore RailCats' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the second and fourth innings.

Kyle Ruwe recorded his fourth win for the St Paul Saints even though he allowed five runs over five innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered 11 hits.

Morgan Coombs (6-8) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.
