The Wichita Wingnuts drop the El Paso Diablos 5-4 behind Ziegler's early three-run blast

The Wichita Wingnuts (57-40) and the El Paso Diablos (45-51) volleyed the lead four times on Tuesday, but the Wichita Wingnuts came out on top for a 5-4 win on Tuesday at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.

The Wichita Wingnuts finally managed to grab the lead after a strong ninth inning. A sacrifice fly by Jake Kahaulelio scored Jared McDonald and gave the Wichita Wingnuts the lead for good.

The Wichita Wingnuts came out swinging, scoring three runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the El Paso Diablos early. A three-run home run by CJ Ziegler delivered the runs in the first. The Wichita Wingnuts had two hits in the inning.

Kahaulelio had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the third and eighth innings.

Anthony Capra allowed two earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings of work.

Josh Dew recorded the win for the Wichita Wingnuts. He allowed two runs over one inning. Dew struck out none, walked none and gave up three hits.

Justin Harper couldn't get it done on the hill for the El Paso Diablos, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

The Wichita Wingnuts were sparked by Kahaulelio and Ziegler, who teamed up for three hits and four RBIs.
