The Kansas City T-Bones (45-44) rolled over the Sioux City Explorers (40-49) 9-3 on Wednesday at Lewis _ Clark Park after a six-run rally in the third inning.
Brandon Jones had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the third innings, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the eighth inning.
Wally Backman was solid at the plate for the Sioux City Explorers. Backman went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.
Brian Grening recorded his ninth win of the year for the Kansas City T-Bones. He allowed two runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered nine hits.
Aaron Correa ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
