The Worcester Tornadoes didn't have a chance on Thursday, as the Kansas City T-Bones (43-36) won in blowout fashion, 11-4 at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto.
The Kansas City T-Bones scored four runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Devin Goodwin, a groundout by Enrique Cruz, a single by Adam De La Garza, , and a single by Brandon Jones.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with five lead changes.
Lee Cruz had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.
Brian Grening got the win, running his season record to 8-4. He allowed four runs over eight innings. Grening struck out five, walked none and gave up 11 hits.
Justin C. Bass, Cruz, Cruz and De La Garza helped lead the Kansas City T-Bones. They combined for nine hits and seven RBIs.
Conner Hulse took the loss for the Worcester Tornadoes. He allowed nine runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out three.
