The Laredo Lemurs (31-33) and the Wichita Wingnuts (37-29) passed the lead back and forth five times on Friday at Uni-Trade Stadium, but in the end the Laredo Lemurs pulled out a 4-2 win over the Wichita Wingnuts.
Jimmy Mojica put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Laredo Lemurs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the second and seventh innings.
The Wichita Wingnuts had no answer for Mike Benacka, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Benacka held the Wichita Wingnuts hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Mike Conroy was hot from the plate for the Wichita Wingnuts. Conroy went 3-5 and scored two runs. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.
Bradley Blanks recorded his second win of the year for the Laredo Lemurs. Blanks struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.
Jared Simon (2-5) took the loss for the Wichita Wingnuts. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
The Laredo Lemurs were sparked by Philip Incaviglia and Mojica, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
